New York Bar Exam Format

The New York Bar Exam lasts two days.  On the first day of the New York Bar Exam, a Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question, five New York essay questions, and 50 state multiple choice questions are administered.   On the second day of the New York Bar Exam, the Multistate Bar Exam is administered. AmeriBar's New York Bar Review Course can help you pass the New York Bar Exam.  If you are looking for comprehensive information about the New York bar exam, visit AmeriBar's official New York Bar Exam website. 

New York Bar Exam Scoring Information

The MBE counts for 40% of your total score on the New York Bar Exam.  The New York essays count for 40%.  The MPT portion of the New York Bar Exam counts for 10%.  The New York multiple choice questions count for 10%.  The scores are added to determine whether the applicant passes the New York Bar Exam.

MBE reciprocity is concurrent only.  Otherwise, all applicants are required to sit for the MBE while taking the New York Bar Exam.  A more detailed New York bar exam MBE Transfer description is available at AmeriBar's Official New York Bar Exam website.
