Montana administers the Uniform Bar Exam. The
Montana Bar Exam consists of three parts:
The Multistate Bar Exam; the Multistate Essay
Exam, and the
Multistate Performance Test. The first day of the
Montana Bar
Exam consists of six essay
questions and two 90-minute Multistate Performance
Test (MPT) exam questions. The second day of the
Montana Bar Exam consists of the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE).
In addition to the Uniform Bar Exam, applicants must
take and pass the Multistate Professional
Responsibility Exam (MPRE).

Before being admitted to practice law in Montana, all
applicants must complete the Montana Law Seminar (MLS). The
MLS is given the day following each February and July bar
