The Idaho Bar Exam lasts two days. The written portion of the exam will be administered on the first day. It consists of six essay questions administered over three hours in the morning. On the afternoon of the first day, two Multistate Performance Test questions are administered. On the second day, the Multistate Bar Exam is administered. The MBE counts for 200 total points. The written portion of the Idaho bar exam counts for 200 total points. An overall passing score is 280 (70%).

Attorneys licensed in Washington state may be eligible to be admitted on motion in Idaho. Attorneys who have actively practiced 5 of the 7 years preceding application are not required to take the MBE.
